In Honor and In Memory of Paula Schinzel Burns

In honor of the memory of Paula Schinzel Burns, the Schinzel family would like to contribute this information about her 3 children to the Class of 1979’s blog.

All 3 of Paula’s children currently live in Gilbert, AZ, a suburb of Phoenix, AZ. (Pictured left to right, Sarah, Frank and Catie)

Catie Burns is the oldest of Paula’s 3 children and is 22 years old. She is a huge Husker fan (Go Big Red!) and has a love for all sports. She currently works at Walgreen’s as their Cosmetic/Beauty Consultant. She has attended Chandler/Gilbert Community College and hopes to enroll in cosmetology school in the fall.

Sarah Burns, 2nd oldest, is 16 years old. She attends high school in Gilbert and has a love of horses. Riding and equestrian activities are her main hobby. She also currently works part-time at a yogurt shop at the nearby mall. She has future plans to go to Colorado State University.

Frankie Burns, age 15, is the youngest. He attends the same high school as Sarah. He also enjoys sports, watching movies, working out at the gym and hanging out with his friends.

  4. Please let Paula's children know that Paula was well liked and respected by all of her classmates. Not only was Paula smarter than the rest of us, but she was also one of the people that we all wanted to be around because of her personality and how much fun we had when we were spending time with her. If any of Paula's children would like to hear some great stories about her please post their information and I would love to tell them things about her from her fellow student's perspective.

I was one of Paula's roomates in college and we both ended up at our first jobs in IBM, Houston. She was a wonderful friend and I too have many fond memories, including a trip to Sidney at Octoberfest!! I'll never forget dancing the polka with her Dad. If you kids would like to hear more please 'friend' me on facebook. I'm Roxanne Skeene in Trinidad.
