In Honor and In Memory of Paula Schinzel Burns

In honor of the memory of Paula Schinzel Burns, the Schinzel family would like to contribute this information about her 3 children to the Class of 1979’s blog.

All 3 of Paula’s children currently live in Gilbert, AZ, a suburb of Phoenix, AZ. (Pictured left to right, Sarah, Frank and Catie)

Catie Burns is the oldest of Paula’s 3 children and is 22 years old. She is a huge Husker fan (Go Big Red!) and has a love for all sports. She currently works at Walgreen’s as their Cosmetic/Beauty Consultant. She has attended Chandler/Gilbert Community College and hopes to enroll in cosmetology school in the fall.

Sarah Burns, 2nd oldest, is 16 years old. She attends high school in Gilbert and has a love of horses. Riding and equestrian activities are her main hobby. She also currently works part-time at a yogurt shop at the nearby mall. She has future plans to go to Colorado State University.

Frankie Burns, age 15, is the youngest. He attends the same high school as Sarah. He also enjoys sports, watching movies, working out at the gym and hanging out with his friends.

A Note From Robyn

Hi Lori,

You have done such a great job with the blog!I went back and scanned a bunch of stuff from my scrapbooks.

You will see my senior schedule and a note about my messy room from my dad.
Pictures of Sue Boo and me at my house messing around and getting ready to leave for a dance with Tracy Hagen.
Pictures of Wyatt and I going to a couple of dances.
The little programs from prom 78 and 79. Apparently I wasn’t a very lively date in 78. =-)
Also more senior and junior pictures.
A couple of pictures of the many we had to draw in Higuchi’s biology class. Those things were brutal. Couldn’t have the patience to do that today.
Lots of pictures and articles from Sidney HILife pertaining to classmates. I was greatly saddened to hear about Paula’s passing especially when I found out we had lived so close to each other. These pictures brought back good memories of her.
Thanks for all the work on the blog. It has been a real joy to be able to read the posts and see the pictures. So many great memories. I LOVED going to high school with you guys and feel very, very fortunate to have been blessed to share my teen years with you.

Cheers
Robyn

Robyn,

Robyn ~ I was looking through my stuff for this too! Having just moved things are still packed in boxes. I was glad you found yours!

Memories From Robyn

You have to read the back of the little card. Sue slipped it in with my junior pictures from everyone. It says something to the effect of “To the biggest bitch I know. Take it easy. But as hard up as you are you will need to take the best you can get. Signed A little Stinker. On the other side of the card was the picture of the skunk that I then noted as Sue Sweeney. It still cracks me up. I can so see her doing it. ~ Robyn

Golf Anyone???

Per Rich Patten:

Tony Skrdlant said he would line up a golf outing for anyone interested Saturday morning. Probably 8-9 am range.

You can email Tony at: anthony.skrdlant@mutualofomaha.com

Per Lori Bahr Borchert:

Even if you are a lousy golfer such as myself...it will be fun! I'm in (2-players).

Those Were The Days

Yes...those were the days.
And we have another chance to relive
those days...with each other.
See you next weekend!
