Here Is What Kathleen Craig Has Been Doing:

Attended CSC, grew up there. Got my degree, got married to Steve Welsh, still happily married. Skipped the kids and moved right into 10 nieces and nephews, and now a few greats. Went to nursing school in my 30's, working as a RN in a recovery room, love it. Moved a lot, first move was to Lamesa TX, three long months there, then to Gunnison, CO for six months, then West Point NE, Fremont NE, Tucumcari NM for 5 years, Lubbock TX for four, now Dallas for 10. Hubby in retail. We love to travel, this year we are taking a Transatlantic Cruise from London to New York City with stops along the way. That is why we are missing the reunion.

Note: I think I would miss the reunion for that too. Have fun!

Where Are Those Photos?

Hey, classmates...where are your photos? I was hoping our slide show would be a better success. I know many of us are getting tired of looking at ourselves, over and over and over again! If you don't want to submit an image of just yourself, send one of you and your family.

Also, if you plan on attending, could you drop me an email at sidneyclassof1979@live.com ? You still have until August 1 to actually send in your money. We just need to get an idea of who will be attending.

Is anyone interested in bringing a door prize? Include this in your email as well. Remember, door prizes could be as simple as a pen or key chain with your business name on it, a craft that you have painted, drawn, photographed, etc, a shirt or shot glass advertising your city or state - what ever works. This is not a requirement.

Don't forget to bring your business cards. We can trade them to keep in touch.

IT'S OFFICIAL - CLASS REUNION LABOR DAY WEEKEND

A class reunion meeting was held at Jimmy's on Saturday, May 30th 2009. In attendence were Lori Bahr Borchert, Susan Dress Rahe, Duane Ellis, Janet Chrisjans Volkmer and Jay Lee Noble.

The Class Reunion will be held Labor Day weekend, September 4, 5 and 6. Friday night's social will be held at Jimmy's, 1540 10th Avenue in Sidney. On Saturday, there will be a tour of Sidney High School at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday evening, there will be a casual supper at the Elks. Social hour will be at 6:30 p.m., dinner beginning at 7:00 p.m. There will be drawings for prizes through out the evening on Saturday night.

If you own a business, do crafting of any sort or if your work would like to donate prizes, please bring them to the Saturday night dinner. Suggestions for prizes are mugs, t-shirts, key chains, pens, caps, clocks, handcrafted jewelry, paintings, drawings, framed photography, scrapbooks, etc. Or maybe you would like to purchase something representing your current state, such as a shot glass, spoon, paper weight. The committee thought this would give a personal touch to the prizes. This is not a requirement to attended. If you can't come up with a prize, just bring yourself!

On Sunday, we will meeting at Legion Park at 12:00 noon to say our farewells. If you would like to have a picnic, bring your own sack lunch.

For those interested in golfing Saturday morning, the golf course is will be open to golfers. Just make sure you call for a tee time. Golf is on your own.

The cost to attend the reunion will be $12.00 per person for the entire weekend. We have had two classmates donate $500.00 each to help fund the reunion. Some of the costs incurred are postage, post cards, ink, building rental ($300.00). If there is money left over, the Class of 1979 will be purchasing a memorial plaque in memory of our Classmates that have passed. It will be in the Legion Park at the Angel of Hope gardens. The cost for the plaque is $300.00. If you would like to donate to this fund even though you won't be attending, feel free to do so.

Deadline for registration is August 1st. Your payment can be mailed to Lori Borchert at 2422 Shelby Drive, Sidney NE 69162. If possible, please register early so we can get a head count for the dinner.
