Elizabeth Laing Henderson 1960-2010
Elizabeth Ann “Liz” Henderson, 50, Princeton, died Friday, July 23rd, 2010 at the University of Minnesota-Fairview Medical Center, Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Liz was born on March 9, 1960 in Minneapolis, MN, daughter of John and Jean (Hetland) Laing. She attended grade school in Memphis, Missouri and graduated from high school in Sidney, Nebraska. She attended Midland College in Fremont, Nebraska. She was united in marriage with Steve Henderson in 1982 moving to Lusk, Wyoming. She moved to Portage, Wisconsin in 1985, where she worked as a nurse’s aide in the nursing home and in 1995, she moved to Princeton, where she worked as the deli manager at Freichels Super Valu, later Sladek’s. More recently she has been a sales associate at Wal-Mart in Elk River, MN. She was diagnosed with cancer in February of this year.
Liz loved all kinds of music and sang in the church choir. She enjoyed decorating for holidays, making Halloween costumes for her children and cooking. She was very creative and enjoyed crafts, crocheting and sewing (for her granddaughter). She loved her dog, Emma and spending time at the lake. She especially enjoyed the sci-fi program “Dr. Who”.
Liz is survived by her three children: Joshua David Henderson of Minneapolis, Danielle Elizabeth Henderson of Elk River, and Stephanie Rose Henderson of Minneapolis; granddaughter: Kaeli Jean Geldert of Elk River; her parents: John and Jean Laing of Princeton; two sisters: Debra (Brett) Kruse of Houston, TX and Nancy (Mitch) Bradley of Thorn Hill, TN; sister-in-law: Laura Laing of Boston, MA; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents; and her brother: John Laing in 1994.
Visitation: 5-8 PM, Thursday, July 29th at the Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home and for one hour before services at the church on Friday.
Funeral: 11:00 AM Friday, July 30th at Trinity Lutheran Church, Princeton, MN.

Condolences to the Liz Laing Henderson family
Via Steve Henderson: For my facebook friends who have not heard, the mother my children, Liz (Laing) Henderson passed away friday (July 23, 2010)morning after a battle with cancer. The memorial and funeral will be next Thursday and Friday, I am heading up to the Twin Cities in the morning to spend a day with Danielle, and hopefully Josh and Steph.

Don Christjans, 70, of Sidney, Nebraska died late Friday afternoon, June 11, 2010 at the Memorial Health Center in Sidney.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, June 15, 2010 in the Light Memorial Presbyterian Church in Sidney with Pastor Leon "Bud" Gillespie officiating. Services will conclude at the church. Inurnment will be in the Presbyterian Cemetery in Avon, South Dakota at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, June 17, 2010.
Cremation has taken place and there is no viewing at the funeral home. Friends who wish may stop at Holechek Funeral Home from 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Monday to sign the register book.
Memorials have been established to the Light Memorial Presbyterian Church or to the donor’s choice.

Donald Dean Christjans, the son of Ede and Edith (Rueb) Christjans, was born May 3, 1940 in Avon, South Dakota. He attended rural school before graduating from Avon High School in 1958.
On December 31, 1959, he was united in marriage to Carol Kay Lorenz in Avon, South Dakota. Don graduated from the University of South Dakota in 1963 with a degree in mathematics and earned his Master’s degree from the University in 1970. Don taught math and coached in other areas before the family moved to Sidney in 1969 where he continued his teaching career. In 1972 he made a career change and became the owner of the Sidney Credit Bureau.
In 1988 they moved to Henderson, Nevada, where he returned to teaching high school math. Don retired in 2002 and they moved back to Sidney where he worked part time at the Insurance Store. Don loved athletics and was a huge Brooklyn Dodgers fan.
Survivors include his wife Carol of Sidney, NE; son Tom and wife Lisa of Park City, UT; daughter Janet Volkmer of Sidney, NE; brother Jim and wife Jean of Avon, SD; sister Marian Neu of Hartington, NE; and four grandchildren: Scott and Jenny Volkmer and Jessica and Sarah Christjans.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law Bob Neu.

Our condolences to Tom Lien and his family on the death of his father.
Robert “Kenny” Lien 1930 to 2010
Robert Kenneth Lien, the son of Thomas Oliver and Gertrude (Buckley) Lien, was born on Feb. 15, 1930, at Crawford. He attended country schools before starting ranching work and later worked in the oil fields near Casper, Wyo. In November of 1949 Kenny was united in marriage to Helen Lou Rickman at Riverton, Wyo. They made their home in Wyoming before moving to California where he began his career as a Sears repairman. He was transferred to Sidney in the late 1960s. Following the death of Helen, Kenny was united in marriage to Ardell Disbrow. Kenny was proud of his long career with Sears and retired at age sixty-five.
Kenny had been a member of Calvary Baptist Church, participating as a song leader and filled in wherever he was needed. As a young man, he was a member of a band and enjoyed playing his guitar, working in the yard, tending to his large garden and going to garage sales.
Survivors include two daughters, Laura Ann Mitobe of Lancaster, Calif., and Debbie Kromrey and husband Steve of What Cheer, Iowa; two sons, Tom Lien and wife Heidi of Las Vegas, Nev., and Richard Lien of Wyoming; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Kenny was preceded in death by his two wives; one grandson, James Little; his parents; and two brothers, LeRoy and Melvin.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday April 10, in the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel with Pastor Richard Fisher officiating. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery.
